Most Peaceful Countries in the World

Do you know which are the most peaceful countries in the world? Since 2007 each year, the Global Peace Index has been issued by the IEP (Institute for Economics and Peace) and is a measurement of nations’ and regions’ peacefulness based on external and internal measures. Although it seems like the world is becoming more cruel, according to the Global Peace Index there are 20 most peaceful countries in the world.
1. Denmark

Denmark tops the list of the most peaceful countries on Earth since it’s really a safe place to live. Even while Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, was under occupation by the Nazis during the World War II, it still did not fight. The point is that people living in Denmark prefer to focus on economic matters, instead of involving themselves in various armed conflicts. Danish people are very friendly, open and helpful. Personally I have been to Copenhagen twice and I wish I lived in this country. I’m pretty sure that those who have been to Denmark at least once could say the same.

Our Country Is Now Under A Cloud of Shame ––Wole Soyinka

With the way politicians are behaving these days, it's only a blind man that would say he is not seeing how things are turning upside down in Nigeria. Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has likened the current spat of insurgency in Nigeria to living under a cloud of shame and feeling of dereliction.

Soyinka said insurgency was thriving in the country due to the incompetence of the government and a clear case of lack of genuine leadership.

He said, “We are sitting under a cloud of heavy embarrassment, shame of the feeling of dereliction, sullen responsibility towards children. We are sitting under a cloud of impotence, of a calamity that was not without notice, and whose myriad causes is quite discernible.
“We are here because of education because we will never stop learning till death. This cloud is made up of a sense of humiliation. We sent our children on an errand and they did not return. The errand is what we are celebrating today. The errand was to prepare the children for today but they never came back, that is what we cannot allow ourselves to forget.”

Soyinka spoke at the 2014 Foundation Day Anniversary and Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Ibadan, where he was honoured with Doctor of Letters honorary degree.

Soyinka was honoured alongside Emeritus Professor Olufemi Ogunlesi, who became the oldest person to receive honorary award of the institution; and businessman owner of Globacom Limited, Mike Adenuga.

Soyinka, who was described by the institution as the courageous voice for human rights, said although the gathering was meant to celebrate success, it would be difficult to cast aside the plight of the abducted girls in Chibok seized by Boko Haram insurgents over six months ago.

He also said that the Nigerian government was guilty of the failure to protect its children and build a safe nation for all.

The Nobel laureate said, “We are familiar with what is going on so I have decided that there is nothing new in what I am going to say. In Port Harcourt where I made a speech at the University of Science and Technology three years ago, I asked deliberately, ‘where is the University of Maiduguri today?’ In the US back in 1957 at the time of racism, the president of that nation federalised the National Guard and ordered it to protect a young girl.

“Do we send children to school to have their hands tied and their throat slit? Yet, we have leadership that is asking the terrorist to come to the table and negotiate with it while children were being killed and taken away in Chibok.

“What crime did they commit? This is not what our children deserve. It begins with the failure to respond as the US president did to protect the little girl. What is the difference between Nigeria’s Boko Haram and America’s night and day riders of hate and destruction? Both thrive on hate, intimidation and inculcation of fear, intolerance and terror. This is what is happening to our institutions, especially in the northern part of our country.”

Watch the interesting video below:

New reports have revealed the untold web of circumstances that led to the bumpy marriage of popular singer, Tiwa Savage and her husband Teebilz.

Teebilz.

According to PaperMacheOnline, governor Fashola’s aide, Folorunsho Coker has been said to be the engineer behind Tiwa Savage’s shaky marriage. Mr Coker, who is the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Government on Central Business District has been said to also be the financial pillar to the popular Mavin group as against many people’s beliefs that Don Jazzy is the real head of the music group.

Mr Coker’s ownership of the music group was said to have come in handy when popular singer, D’banj left the defunct Mo’hit. Coker was said to have waded in, helping the group financially, thereby making Don Jazzy just a ceremonial public figure head of the group.

PaperMacheOnline reports that the beautiful female singer, Tiwa Savage has had to contend with in recent times, Coker’s alleged ownership of the Mavin record label and how he allegedly imposed singer Di’Ja on the label despite Don Jazzy’s reluctance to absorb her into the fold.

Although Tiwa has not made any official statement concerning the marital challenges, several voices have romantically linked Coker with Tiwa Savage, making many to have asserted that it was her alleged romance that resulted in the politician’s alleged ownership of Mavin Records; with Don Jazzy said to be the official face of the brand

It was also made known that it was in an attempt to spite Coker that Tiwa Savage got married to Teebilz when she noticed that the politician was also having a romantic affair with label mate, Di’Ja. This step of getting married to Teebilz got Coker angry because of his love for the singer to the point that he was bent on destroying whatever Teebliz and the singer have together as husband and wife.

Teebliz was however said to have been suspicious of his wife’s never ending phone calls and incessant messages with the politician even when the beautiful singer assured her husband that all interactions with the politician are purely official.

Mr Coker who was a Deputy Chief of Staff to ex-Lagos Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been said not to be far from controversies as his crashed marriage to Folake Akindele, his business relationship with Kasham Buruji and his appointment into the Lagos State government had always been topic of controversies.

It would be recalled that just few weeks ago, news about the beautiful singer having marital challenges rocked the country.

Sad! How 14-Year Old Girl’s Guardian Raped Girl For 4 Years Despite Being Married

Okparanta (the alleged rapist) The victim and her baby
It’s a long read though, just another eye opener for married women who have young house helps in the house.

No one could have imagined that 16-year-old Gloria (not real name) was just two weeks away from the delivery of a child on September 3, 2014.

“I noticed her neck was full and darker, those were the only signs I saw. So, I asked if she was pregnant. Her expression and answer showed she had no idea she was indeed pregnant,” a neighbour who unravelled the mystery of the pregnancy told Saturday Punch.

Gloria, a year one senior secondary school student, lives with his married brother unaware that she was about to become a mother. But buried deeply in the girl’s heart was a painful secret she had never told a soul.

The inquisitive neighbour was unconvinced. She approached Gloria’s sister-in-law, who also expressed the same concern that she was afraid the girl might be pregnant.

“The sister-in-law had even taken the girl to the hospital and had her urine tested for pregnancy. But the test was negative. But I insisted we take her back to hospital for a blood test instead. I even had to pay for that,” the neighbour, who pleaded anonymity, said. The test result was positive. Gloria was pregnant.

With threats, pleading and persuasion, Gloria’s brother, Obi, tried to get the truth about who was responsible out of Gloria, but the little girl was too afraid to tell the truth.

Saturday Punch decided to withhold the identity of the girl and those of her relations because she is still a minor according to provisions of the Lagos State Child Rights Law, 2007.

The same neighbour, who had been friends with the family for some years, eventually got the girl to tell the truth, which shocked the girl’s brother.

When our correspondent spoke with Gloria on Thursday, there was no sign that she could have been the mother of the child she held in her arms.

Timid and innocent, she looked at the floor as she spoke softly, delving into the account of a sexual abuse she had gone through in the last five years.

When Gloria’s brother brought her to Lagos seven years ago from their village in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, it was to give her a semblance of a better life, different from the pathetic one she was said to be living in. Their mother had just died at the time, while their aged father back in the village was not doing too well financially.

“She was living with me along with some of my friends at the time. Things were still rough for me and I was single.” Obi said.

Not long after this, Obi’s good friend from Anambra State, a trader living in Mangoro area of Lagos named Ugochukwu Okparanta, said he would take over the care of the girl to ease the financial burden off his friend while the girl would help his wife with house chores.

“I was nine when I started living with Uncle (Okparanta). But two years after I got there, he started raping me,” Gloria began. “He started one day when I was washing plates and he started to touch me in the private part and breast.”

The girl became tearful. Her voice shook and trailed off. But our correspondent assured her that she was not going to be in trouble of any kind by telling her story. Then she continued.

“He started by petting me, telling me I would like it. I refused and became afraid. Then he threatened me. He would tell me that I would be in trouble if I did not do what he wanted,” Gloria said.

Asked why she could not report the problem to her brother, the girl said she thought nobody would believe her.

“If I told Madam (Okparanta’s wife), she would say I lied against her husband,” Gloria explained. Then came one night, while her boss’ wife slept in the couple’s room, Okparanta sneaked out to the room Gloria shared with his own daughter, an older girl.

She said, “He told me to follow him to the sitting room. I obeyed. He raped me and while he did it, I was about to scream, but he covered my mouth with his hand very tightly. I was bleeding when he finished and I became more scared but he smiled and said the blood was normal.

“After that, he would rape me almost every night. Madam did not know anything. Anytime I refused, Uncle would threaten to deal with me. There was a day I refused and when I greeted him the following day, he did not answer me.

“He reported me to his wife that I had become pompous in his house and that I no longer greeted him.”

This sexual abuse would continue for four years, according to the girl, until 2013 when his brother got married and brought her back to help around the house.

However, in January 2014, the sexual abuse the girl had kept secret and thought was over would come back to haunt her.

“His wife had just had a miscarriage and I was sent to go and help her for a few days. But in the afternoon, when his children had gone to school, he dragged me to his children’s room and raped me,” Gloria said.

Few days before that day, our correspondent learnt that Gloria’s brother had even gone to his ‘magnanimous’ friend, bearing a bottle of wine, to thank him for taking care of his sister over the years.

“I did not know in my wildest dream that the man I see as my friend would do such a terrible thing to my sister,” he said.

Nobody knew what damage had been done until September 2014 when the symptoms of pregnancy started to manifest in the girl’s body.

“She is one of those people who could be pregnant and her flat tummy would not make anyone suspicious. I thought that if she was pregnant, it would be in early stages and could be aborted. I had no idea that she would deliver in a few days,” the neighbour told our correspondent.

The day Gloria gave birth, the girl who knew nothing about motherhood was in labour for hours in her room and thought she was having a stomach ache.

She only screamed when her water broke, it was learnt. But she had a crisis-free delivery and gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

“I have never had sex with any other boy before. I can swear on my life,” she said.

When Gloria’s angry brother and other relations confronted Okparanta with the rape allegation, he denied initially.

“He later admitted that he slept with her only once,” Obi said.

When Saturday Punch spoke with Okparanta on the phone, he initially went from feigning ignorance to outright denial.

But when he was asked why he sent a cheque of N50,000, to the girl’s brother, he hesitated a little and admitted he raped the girl once.

“It is a lie that I started sleeping with her since she was 11. Even last year, I did not sleep with her,” Okparanta said.

“Yes, I gave her brother a cheque because they were accusing me that I was responsible,” he continued.

But did he think he could be responsible since he has admitted sleeping with the girl?

He said, “I only slept with her once in January and she was not a virgin at the time. That was the last time I did it. I was not the first person to sleep with her. I am not the one that deflowered her.

“I was sleeping in the sitting room at the time. I just felt someone touching me. I just did not know how I slept with her after that. I hated her since then.”

Our correspondent asked if it was true that he and his wife had accused the girl of being possessed, Okparanta said, “I did not know what came over me that made me sleep with her. I told his brother after the incident that he should take her to a church for deliverance.”

He told our correspondent that he did not tell his friend that he ever slept with his sister.

“No, I did not. I just hated the girl and felt she should not have made me to do such a bad thing. I am currently discussing with the family to see how we can take care of the baby if indeed I am responsible.”

Child rights activist, Esther Ogwu, who had taken up the case, said taking responsibility for the care of the child was just a first step.

Ogwu, who is the Executive Director of Esther Child Rights Foundation, said, “We are working to ensure that justice is done in this matter. But the welfare of the mother and child is paramount. We are taking the matter to the police, who will invite Okparanta for interrogation.

“But it is necessary for families to be wary of the environment where children they put children they bring to Lagos from their villages. Many of such children often times are abused by adults who take advantage of their ignorance and innocence.”

Marrying My Ex-Wife’s Niece Is No Big Deal- K1

Alhaji Ayinde Wasiu Marshal, K1 has said he won’t be the first person to marry his ex-wife’s niece and people talking about it should let them be. While speaking in a fresh interview K1 hinted that it is true he married his ex-wife's niece and what's the big deal about that.

Doesn’t it bother you when people talk and reel out such scandals about you marrying your ex-wife’s relative?

It doesn’t make any meaning to me. Do you read the Bible very well? The Bible contains a lot of things even for generations yet to come to learn something from. The Bible is a book of life. Talking about my personal life doesn’t make any meaning. If you start tracing the lineage of some people, you would even find out that some men may have married their sisters and nothing happened. It is not a big deal. If they didn’t kill them then, why would somebody talk about my marrying my ex-wife’s niece and such jargons? It doesn’t make any meaning. Life is about what suits you. I don’t want to be citing examples but the Bible has taught us so many things.

Kirikiri Town: Etcetera Exposes Daddy Showkey, Basket Mouth, Sunday Oliseh Others In New Article

This article by Etcetera will bring memories back to you if you ever lived in Kirikiri town and you are of his age. Etcetera in this new article explained how he lived in Kirikiri town with few celebrity friends with whom they all engaged in one 'crime' or the other.

He also explained his 'prison' life and how he had visited the maximum security prison because his father was the Chief Warder. He had fun watching and mingling with the likes of Ade Bendel, Major Al Mustapha, General Bamaiyi and Colonel Gwadabe who were all in prison and described how Ade Bendel had swag in prison and how all prisoners loved him crazy. You will definitely enjoy this article if you have no hate for him, but if you have hated him in the past, you won't, lol. Oya click read more to get to know him better.

Sometime during the week, I paid a visit to Kirikiri Town after a very long time. I grew up there as a little boy and it was there I had the fondest memories of my life. As soon as I got into town, word went round and friends started calling to find out where I was. I hooked up with my childhood best friend, Patrick, and we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather by going for a walk through the town to recall some of our funniest memories from childhood.

The first thing we laughed about was how Bright Okpocha, the comedian known as Basketmouth, took us along to steal his father’s fowl. We were four very close friends who practically did everything together. I lived in the prison barracks and I was always telling them mouth-watering stories of how those of us who lived there regularly made chicken pepper soup and plantain porridge with fowls in the barracks. I never knew Basketmouth was licking his lips to my stories all along until he called us one very beautiful morning to steal his father’s fowl. We got to his family house the next morning and executed the fowl like trained assassins. Basketmouth and myself were assigned to cook the jollof rice while Patrick and Godwin (Basketmouth’s immediate older brother) kept watch in case their mum got back from the market earlier than anticipated. After cooking, Basketmouth, thinking because he had the biggest eye balls among us demanded to be given the best part of the chicken.

We wasted no time in reminding him of his age compared with everyone else’s. We ate everything and thought that we had rid the house of any evidence that could have incriminated us. We didn’t realise that Basketmouth forgot to throw away the feathers of the fowl. Later in the day when we were gathered at another friend’s place recounting our exploits for the day, Basketmouth’s little brother walked up from nowhere and said their father was calling all of us. See gobe! We knew instantly that we had been caught and it was due to Basketmouth’s negligence.

The first thing the old man said when he saw us was “O Bright, you have eaten my heart.” We fought back laughter, fearing a double dose of whatever punishment we had coming. Oh! We teased Basketmouth and his brother Godwin with that line afterwards. We escaped without punishment. Thank God for his beautiful mum who pleaded on our behalf because she loved us all like her own. Patrick and I strolled further down town to the secondary school we attended and had a good laugh imitating Daddy Showkey, who was our senior in school and was always walking around the school premises, wearing bathroom slippers. His uniform was never tucked in but he was always punishing us for ‘flying’ our uniforms. The junior students dreaded him like hell. We talked about how the late Evangelist Sunny Okosuns was said to have been a very playful boy in one of the public primary schools in the town. On our way to the prison yard, we passed by the house where Rev. Kris Okotie grew up.

We talked about life in the prison barracks and how being the son of the chief warder of the maximum security prison gave me the opportunity to meet very influential Nigerians in the prison yard. I remember my dad taking me to say hello to General Shehu Yar’Adua one evening after his lawn tennis game. I watched him play lawn tennis almost every evening in the yard in his impeccable white shorts and T-shirt. And there were always a handful of prisoners helping with the stray balls. I witnessed the General yell at an overzealous prisoner who dashed into the court unnecessarily to retrieve a loose ball.

I also told my friend how Major Al Mustapha jokingly asked me what crime I had committed to be in the yard. I quickly informed him that I was the son of the chief warder. Till date, Major Al Mustapha is regarded as the best thing to have happened to the inmates of Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison by the inmates. He uplifted the spirits of the inmates by sponsoring various activities in the prison yard. He sponsored the prison football team and helped so many of the inmates gain their freedom. I always saw him seated by the side of the field cheering the players. Sometimes in the company of General Bamaiyi and Colonel Gwadabe, who were also inmates at the time. Other high profile inmates in the yard at that time were Fred Ajudua and Ade Bendel. Ade Bendel also rocked the prison yard with his swag. While other inmates wore ordinary prison uniforms, his was made of jeans and a well tailored shirt to match. They loved him like crazy for his benevolence. He built a hall for the prisoners and invited Basketmouth to perform. Basketmouth was scared to go alone and he asked me to accompany him, which I did.

We talked about life outside the barracks when my dad retired. How Yakubu Aiyegbeni moved in with a friend living in my compound. We always ‘yabbed’ him as he walked about the compound with his big ‘yansh.’ Till date, we are still amazed how he played so brilliantly and effortlessly with such a body size. Sunday Oliseh was a member of our senior football team. Members of the junior team were made to pick balls while the senior team trained. Coach Fanny Amun came to town at different times to plead with the father of a member of our senior team to play for him. That happened after a game the senior team of the town played against the national under 17 team, coached by Fanny Amun.

We also talked about how Victor Okechukwu Agali, who was known in Kirikiri Town and Satellite Town as “Okey Banana” made it from hawking bananas in the streets to playing football for Schalke 04 in Germany. And how happy we were collecting tips from Samson Siasia to watch over his car whenever he visited his brother who was doing time in prison. We talked about how we used to listen to team mates laugh about how they tortured Osaze Odemwingie while they played football at the Pepsi Academy. Back then, every player in our team had a crush on Ann Echiejine, the first goalie for the Falcons. She was a member of the town’s female football team. She joined us in training regularly and she became better for it. It seemed training with the male team improved her skills tremendously. We were always very happy to have body contact with her on the pitch.

I got back home that night, played a compilation CDs of old Nigerian reggae music and slept with the thought of how Victor Essiet got married to the late Becky Umanah, a girl from Kirikiri Town and they both became The Mandators.

Somebody is trying to stop the hunters from killing Boko Haram

Hours after brave civilian vigilante forces delivered the best recent news; of liberation of northeastern cities, to the entire world, in an utter show of terrorism and dangerous treachery, the Nigerian police have been instructed by President Goodluck Jonathan government to "screen" the vigilante groups.

Rather than receive support from this administration, the brave vigilantes who are being celebrated by all and sundry for their triumphant action in the recovery of occupied territories where Nigerians were suffering under Boko Haram rule; a feat the Nigerian army could not, are to be persecuted?

Quoting PremiumTimes: “The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, on Thursday, directed all commissioners of police to ensure the adequate screening of vigilante groups across Nigeria.

A statement by the police spokesperson, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said this was aimed at ensuring that the groups abide by relevant regulations and avoid any form of abuse.

He noted that Mr. Abba instructed that an officer be appointed in all the police state commands in Nigeria to oversee the activities of the vigilante groups and deliver regular reports on them.

The directive comes about 24 hours after over 70 Boko Haram members were killed by some local hunters in Maiha Local Government area of Adamawa State.

Maiha fell into the hands of Boko Haram insurgents after a fierce battle with the Nigerian troops on Monday.

However, the local hunters ambushed the insurgents and killed them in their dozens.” End quote.

The corrupt and billions of dollars bloated Jonathan government and police who are yet to protect life in the northeast or any other part of Nigeria and who have not policed the territories lost to Boko Haram, but are mischievously desperate enough to rush out to decree that they will witch-hunt the Ibn Fadlallah civilian forces who have been liberating cities in the northeast including the hometown of the nation's chief of defense, Alex Badeh, is a clear evidence that the Jonathan government is set on frustrating life in the north and protecting and promoting Boko Haram.

This action is a clear and further indisputable indication that Jonathan is a sponsor of Boko Haram. The sudden rush to persecute the brave vigilantes is in-your-face, evidence of the Jonathan government’s desperate and bold desire to obstruct and destroy the nation.

Barely had the armed civilian resistance forces scored these amazing victories and liberated the people, also capturing and handing over Boko Haram's "Emir" installed in Mubi to the Nigerian security department, did Jonathan hurry to order the police to attempt to harass these brave and selfless warriors to "follow protocol." What protocol? Is that the protocol that Dokubo follows? Is that the protocol that Tompolo follows? And what is this government doing with the records of abuse of the Nigerian army that suddenly they see an urgency to find “abuse” by the great patriotic legions battling Boko Haram?

What happened in Kaduna with the Islamic movement and massacre of three sons of a peaceful Nigerian elite leader? What happened to the abuses reported by the world Human right organizations? What happened to the BRT buses abuse in Lagos? What happened to the newspaper stand abuses of the army? Jonathan does not see all those, but what he sees is an urgency to find abuse in these great mission so he can bribe the leadership and cut them down as has been done to the Civilian-JTF in Borno after they likewise destroyed Boko Haram and almost ended their existence earlier on last year?

Nigerians stand firmly behind the Ibn Fadlallah civilian forces and all aligned vigilante groups. We in very strong terms, warn this deadly government and all their instruments, that anyone who harasses the brave youth defending the nation and doing what the sabotaged army fails to do will be a declared enemy of all Nigerians and will come under the full wrath of the people and international courts as well as the legions who have risen in the north never to abandon their people to a greed-drunken, clueless fate, ever again.

LMAO! Patrick Obahiagbon blasts Naija Leaders with grammer

Patrick Obahiagbon speak to citizen reporter, Kayode Ogundamisi, on critical matters of state:
